Did you know you only need 30-60 minutes’ exercise a day? This small effort will improve your physical and mental wellbeing.
Adapt the type of exercise and its intensity to your age and your objectives. Just make sure you do it every single day. This is, once again, one of the best #SmartAging tips from MartiDerm.
Sport, physical exercise, doesn't just get your body into shape. It also shapes, changes and soothes your mind. If you look at it that way, you’ll get more out of it.
It’s best to start slowly and surely and above all, regularly. You’ll soon notice your body becoming more flexible and ready for you to step up the intensity. That’s why first off, and so you don't get discouraged, you need to set realistic goals. At MartiDerm we suggest practising the two exercises we think work best: walking and yoga.
In fact, people in the know say that whatever sport you start to do, you’ll end up doing yoga. It stretches, strengthens and tones, and its effects transcend the physical to become spiritual. Yoga provides postural control and elasticity. It even aids digestion.
Walking has been part of our nature since man first began to walk on two legs. Could there be anything more natural and in line with our true selves?
Walking burns calories, tones the lower body (including buttocks) and the stomach, back and arm muscles. And of course it helps soothe and clear your mind. Try it out at work - if you can't solve a problem, step outside and take a walk. The continuous aerobic swinging of arms and legs has a direct impact on our thoughts, clearing the mind. Experts recommend walking 45-60 minutes three times a week, although walking for a while every day is obviously the ideal.
It’s also the key to the #SmartAging lifestyle: consistency. Introducing positive and healthy routines into your daily life will see you effortlessly integrate them into your regular practices until they become indispensable, obtaining short and long-term results.
So come on! Get started. Bit by bit. You can do it. Have faith in yourself. We do. ;)
