2024 has been a year full of action, collaboration and achievements that reaffirm our commitment to Social Work and Sustainability. As a team, we have worked hand in hand with organisations and communities to have a positive impact on the lives of many people and to care for the planet.
Through this report, we celebrate the projects undertaken, which reflect the spirit of solidarity and innovation that defines us as a company. Thank you to everyone who has made this incredible journey possible!
Health and Well-being (SDG 3)
This year, health has been a key focus of our social action. Initiatives like the 10th Charity Night Against Cancer, which we sponsored, allowed essential funds for the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer) to be raised, strengthening our fight against this disease that affects so many lives.
Additionally, we organised the traditional Charity Chocolate Feast together with the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, bringing our team together to support research on childhood cancer. In addition to these actions was our collaboration with Respon.cat, where we contribute to promoting social and business responsibility, and with Pere Tarrés Foundation, to promote education and well-being programmes.
We also participated in the An Apple for Life campaign, which benefitted the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, and continue to support the AECC with the Sale of Pink Products, aimed at preventing breast cancer.
At an international level, we worked with the NGO Tu Casa en África, donating products such as Ivermectin Capsules, Calamina Plus and hand creams for vulnerable communities in Casamance. This collaboration not only improved medical assistance, but also promoted training and sustainability in the region.
Social Inclusion and Community Support (SDG 10)
Social inclusion has been one of the key pillars of our social work this year. Thanks to donations to the Sons of Corbera Association, we contribute to the well-being of vulnerable families. Additionally, we organised the successful Charity Christmas Market, whose funds were allocated to Salut Sense Sostre and UNRWA, and the July Charity Market, which benefitted IRB Barcelona and Salut Sense Sostre.
Our collaboration with the Red Cross was also key. In December, we carried out a food and toy collection campaign, ensuring that many families could enjoy decent festivities. Additionally, the “Hands for help” campaign allowed over 4,500 charity creams to be sold, profits from which were allocated to improving the lives of the elderly.
Another notable project was our participation in the Estrena Vida initiative, led by the Santa Clara Foundation. This programme offers support to vulnerable mothers, and as part of our collaboration, we organised a skincare workshop for them, led by Dr Montse Pérez.
In September, we also supported the Charity Musical Bingo, an event in Cervelló aimed at raising funds to fight against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, strengthening our local presence in community projects.
Sustainability and Environment (SDG 12, 13 and 15)
At MartiDerm, sustainability is at the centre of everything we do. In 2024 we managed to certify our carbon footprint under the international GHG protocol, with a 27% reduction of our emissions since 2018. This milestone drives us to continue advancing in our environmental commitment.
Currently, approximately 50% of the energy used in the manufacturing of our products comes from our solar panels. This clean energy not only powers our facilities but is also utilized for efficient climate control, in conjunction with aerothermal and geothermal systems, which significantly help us reduce energy consumption throughout the year.
Thanks to these initiatives, we have achieved a reduction of over 20% in our energy consumption between 2021 and 2023, despite the growth in production and workforce.
Our efforts were recognised at the VPC Green Beauty Awards, where we won Gold for the Best Eco Parapharmacy Innovation with Active [D] Body Lotion SPF50+ and Bronze for the Company Most Committed to Sustainability.
This year we also joined awareness days such as the International Day Against Climate Change and World Energy Saving Day, inspiring our team and the community to adopt more responsible practices.
Partnerships (SDG 17)
We understand that the impact is multiplied when we work as a team. Therefore, this year we strengthened our strategic partnerships:
- • IRB Barcelona: We support biomedical research focused on curing cancer and illnesses related with aging.
- • Salut Sense Sostre: We offer support to improve the quality of life of homeless people, through medical and psychological assistance.
- • Red Cross: We consolidate our collaboration with campaigns such as toy and food collection, as well as our actions for improving the lives of the elderly.
- • AECC: We renew our commitment to this association, working together on prevention, awareness and research against cancer.
Additionally, we participate in initiatives such as CORRESOLIDARIS and La Marató de TV3, strengthening our connection with charity causes in this community.
A Future with Purpose
This annual report is a reflection of who we are: a company committed to people, the planet and progress. Our objective is not only to grow, but to grow with purpose, making a difference in each action we undertake.
Thanks to the collective effort of our team and collaborators, we have made achievements that inspire us to continue moving forward. Together we can create a more inclusive, supportive and sustainable future.
