Cookie Policy

Updated on 8 January 2024.

MartiDerm has developed this policy to explain what a cookie is and what it serves for, the cookies we use on this website (the "Site") and how to set them in line with your interests, as required by article 22.1 of Law 34/2002 of 11 July 2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce ("LSSI").

When you visit our website for the first time, we inform you of the existence of both our own and third-party cookies through the information notice on the website and in this cookie policy. We also tell you how to set the cookies you wish to install from among the different types we use in the Cookie Manager.

By setting or accepting cookies, you consent to the installation of all or selected cookies.

However, please bear in mind that certain cookies are exempt from consent as they are essential for the proper functioning of the website. Included in this exception are technical cookies intended to allow you to browse this site, to enable the use of the different services included on it, to control traffic and data communication, among other matters, as described below.

Our policy will be available to you at all times at the bottom of our website under the "Cookie Policy" link.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies let you use and browse a site and are essential for the functioning of the Internet, providing countless advantages in interactive service provisions.

Cookies are used to manage your user sessions (reducing the number of times you need to enter your password) or to tailor site content to your preferences and therefore improve your website experience.

Cookies are classified into the following categories:

We can distinguish between "session" and "persistent" cookies depending on their duration. Session cookies are deleted when you leave the site that generated them, while persistent cookies remain on your computer for a certain period of time.

We can also distinguish between "own" and "third-party" cookies depending on the entity that manages the computer or domain from where the cookies are sent and where the data obtained are processed. Own cookies are sent to your device from a computer or domain managed by MartiDerm and from where the service you requested is provided, while third-party cookies are sent to your device from a computer or domain not managed by MartiDerm or which may be managed by it but where another entity processes the data obtained through the cookies for its own purposes (often by contracted suppliers, e.g., the web analytics service offered by Google).

For more information on cookies, see www.allaboutcookies.org.

Other similar technologies

In addition to information collected through cookies, we may use other similar technologies such as tracking pixels or web beacons.

Pixels are small graphic files that include a code managed through a third-party URL which allow the information collected on the use of the website to be used for analytical and advertising purposes.

Pixels collect information regarding the browser used, the IP address and visit frequency and duration, and are also used to track user actions on the website (such as purchases added to the shopping cart, products purchased, redirections to other websites, newsletters opened, actions that generate more visits and purchases, type of audience interested), among others.

In addition to the use of tracking pixels or web beacons, we may also use another user identification and tracking technique known as "fingerprinting". This allows us to verify certain technical parameters of your computer, such as the browser used, the operating system, screen resolution, plug-ins and add-ons installed, font, IP address, language and time zone and which, when combined, allow you to be identified. The information collected will be used to track your activity and browsing and create your user profile.

2. THE COOKIES WE USE

We may use technical cookies for internal use, analytics cookies, preference cookies, social network cookies or advertising cookies on our website.

You will be duly informed about the type of cookies through the following sections established for this purpose and as to whether the information collected can be processed by third parties as joint data controllers.

You can also consult the specific cookies we may install on your device when you visit our website through the Cookie Manager (banner) that will appear on your first visit. You can access the banner and set your preferences as often as you like by clicking the "Cookie Policy" button at the bottom of the website, and access the Cookie Manager at any time.

WHO USES OUR COOKIE DATA?

As indicated in the previous sections, we use our own and third-party cookies on our website.

Third-party cookies are managed directly by third parties who usually leverage the data for their own purposes. All the information can be found in the previous section and in the cookie configurator itself, as well as in the policies of the third parties identified in each section.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP THE INFORMATION?

You can consult the retention periods for information obtained by the different cookies in Section 2: "The Cookies We Use" and via the Cookie Manager.

HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES?

When you visit our website for the first time, we offer you the possibility of setting the cookies you wish to install, or manage or reject them via the Cookie Configurator at the button below. You may refuse the installation of any type of cookie except technical cookies, which are necessary for the correct functioning of the website.

If you used the Cookie Manager to agree to install certain cookies that you subsequently wish to reject, you can modify your initial selection or reset them by using the "Cookies" button at the bottom of the website.

You may also accept or reject the installation of cookies at any time or reject the installation of a specific type of cookie by modifying your browser preferences.

Through your web browser you can:

  • - enable private browsing: your browser stops saving your browsing history, website passwords, cookies and other information from the websites you visit, or
  • - enable the 'do not track' feature: the browser asks the websites you visit not to track your browsing habits for the purpose, for example, of sending you targeted publicity on websites you visit.
