Chicory root extract

What is it?

It is a purified active obtained from the root of Cichorium intybus and is rich in oligofructose.

What does it do for your skin?

Chicory root extract acts in a similar way to vitamin D, enabling mature or lacklustre skin to recover its functional barrier faster.

In the skin it initiates 90% of vitamin D synthesis under the effect of UVB rays. However, age, the area where we live and the use of sunscreens can limit endogenous vitamin D synthesis. For that reason, the use of cosmetics with Vitamin D-Like actives helps renew epidermal cells and restore the skin barrier function.
