Glycosaminoglycans

What are they?

Glycosaminoglycans are moisturising and firming agents.

What do they do for your skin?

Proteoglycans are formed by a carrier protein to which different chains of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are covalently bonded in a variable amount. GAGs are found in the skin, cartilage and joints. In the skin, they participate directly in maintaining viscoelasticity and hydration, regulating the aqueous content of the connective tissue and its water retention capacity.
