At MartiDerm, sustainability is not just a trend, but an essential pillar of our mission. As part of World Energy Saving Day, we want to highlight some of the initiatives that we have implemented to reduce environmental impact, optimise use of resources and maintain a firm commitment to energy efficiency.
Solar energy: an endless source of clean energy
At MartiDerm, we self-produce a significant part of the energy that we consume, thanks to the installation of solar panels. These photovoltaic panels convert sunlight into electricity, providing a clean, renewable solution for our daily operations.
Since we began our energy saving project, we have installed solar panels that currently generate over 15% of the annual energy consumption of our building. This capacity is the result of a three phase process that began with the installation of 30 kW/h and expanded until reaching 120 kW/h in total. This energy is used both for operating our installations and for self-consumption for air conditioning, a clear commitment to efficiency and sustainability.

Aerothermal energy: using air for air conditioning
Another key step in our energy saving strategy is the use of aerothermal energy, a technology that takes advantage of the heat of the air to air condition spaces efficiently. This system regulates the temperature of our offices and warehouse, using the heat of outside air to warm them during winter and releasing the heat from inside during summer.

Geothermal energy: the power of the subsoil
At MartiDerm we also take advantage of natural resources with the installation of geothermal systems, which allow the heat stored in the subsoil to be used for efficient air conditioning. At depths of over 15 metres, the temperature of the soil remains constant throughout the year, allowing a highly efficient energy exchange, which not only reduces consumption, but also minimises environmental impact.

Positive impact of our measures
Between 2021 and 2023, we have achieved a 20% reduction in our energy consumption, despite a 25% growth in production and number of employees. This success is not only the result of our investments in technology, but also of efficient management of consumption through optimisation of air conditioning and implementation of automated systems in our installations.
Today, approximately 50% of the energy that we use in the manufacturing of our products comes from solar panels. The rest of the energy that we use for air conditioning or lighting of our offices comes from 100% clean sources, which reinforces our commitment to sustainability.
Constant commitment to a sustainable future
At MartiDerm, we understand that taking care of the environment is a shared responsibility. We therefore continue working on innovative solutions that allow us to even further reduce our environmental impact. Celebrating World Energy Saving Day is an opportunity to reassert our commitment and continue advancing toward a more sustainable future, where energy efficiency is a key value in our daily operations.
